This side of Bush still ticks me off.

Yep, you got the Reagan Bush who's kicking terrorist behind and making great speeches, and you got the RINO Bush pandering to minorities and letting the Democrats screw him over.

Sprinkling his speech with Spanish, President Bush wooed Hispanic voters Wednesday by renewing his support for an amnesty bill for illegal immigrants.

This is a red alert from numbersusa.com for March 7,2002. Their fax server crashed after 500,000 faxes on this issue.

The White House at this moment is working all the levers of power to maneuver the Section 245i mini-amnesty through Congress before he goes to Mexico in three weeks. This would significantly increase permanent U.S. population growth.

======================================== NEED YOUR URGENT ATTENTION TO RED ALERTS

======================================== You have been through these red alerts before and know that we don't move into this mode unless the threat is absolutely real. Once we get in them, we notify you daily if necessary to keep you targeted where your pressure will have the most impact.

Please do your best to act on my phoning request later in this e-mail.

At the very least, pledge yourself to send the faxes that we will put up and notify you about over the next couple of days (our faxing server broke down after sending more than a half-million faxes to Congress, and we are purchasing a new one and reprogramming it right now).

The way our citizen network helped defeat attempts in the fall of 1999 for a Central American amnesty, fall of 2000 for a Central American amnesty, and fall of 2001 for the Section 245i mini-amnesty was because those of you in the network responded immediately and repeatedly to our suggestions for action.

The only way we can beat the amnesty this month -- or at least lessen the damage -- is if every citizen in the network responds in the usual way.

================================================================== The threat is a whole new wave of amnesty for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and the enticement of millions more to move here.

================================================================== We have learned from more than three inside sources that the White House has told GOP congressional leaders that President Bush has to have some kind of amnesty to present to President Fox when he goes to Mexico in three weeks. The president apparently is willing to expend all the political capital necessary to have this amnesty in the form of a reinstatement of Section 245(i).

NumbersUSA staff have met with both White House aides and with Homeland Security officials recently. It was clear in those conversations that the White House is almost obsessed with ways to deliver on promises to Pres. Fox and boost his popularity at home. It appears that this administration may believe that Mexico is on the verge of a collapse that would threaten our national security. This is a legitimate concern for our national government to have about a neighbor with 100 million mostly impoverished people. Sadly, though, the upper hand in the Administration seems to go to those who believe we should deal with that security issue by compromising our nation's security through various leniency to those who violate our immigration laws.

Although congressional GOP leaders (especially in the House) are wary of any kind of amnesty, they apparently feel they have no choice in standing up to the Commander in Chief and leader of their party when they are told this is a mandatory action. Thus, GOP leaders are expected to bring the 245i mini-amnesty to the floor of both houses in the next couple of weeks.

Section 245i allows illegal aliens who are on a waiting list to some year receive a green card as a relative or imported worker to pay a fine and be allowed to stay in this country legally until their turn arrives on the list. Why have a list, if you are going to allow anybody who jumps the line and comes here illegally to stay anyway?

Remember, that Section 245i is a security risk because:

1. It allows hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to stay permanently without going through face-to-face interviews in our embassies in their own countries, cultures and languages.

2. It allows people to remain here for years -- 20-30 years in some cases -- as something just above an illegal alien until there name comes up on a waiting list for green cards.

3. It entices millions more foreign nationals to enter the country without screening to be illegal aliens here in hopes that they also will be rewarded for their lawbreaking.

And all of that shows how a Section 245 amnesty boosts U.S. population growth.

================================ WHY WE FIGHT

================================ If the skids are already greased, what can all of us accomplish by fighting?

1. Sometimes you win against all odds. We were told by everybody last fall that 245i could not be blocked. We fought anyway, and we won (temporarily, but then all of our victories tend to be temporary).

2. Even if we lose, all-out opposition would help keep 245i narrow. While the open-borders, double-the-pop. people want a permanent extension, and the president favors a year, perhaps we can keep the reinstatement to only 4 months. Perhaps the constituent pressure will help our lobbyists to negotiate details that will curb the damage.

3. Perhaps while losing, our champions in the Congress can negotiate with the White House that it won't bring up any more amnesties and pro-illegal measures -- at least for this Congress.

4. Our fighting may be strong and painful enough that the White House will be discouraged from trying more bad stuff or from blocking good stuff.

============================================== PHONE CALLS NEEDED TODAY AND THROUGH THE WEEK

============================================== =============================== CALL THE WHITE HOUSE

=============================== There are two comment lines:

202-456-1111 and 202-456-1414 Some of our regular phoners suggest that it is worth calling both numbers, perhaps a few hours apart, since they seem to go into different sections.

They also suggest that you call again a day or two later and emphasize a different point.

The main goal here is to ring the phones enough that the volunteers report to their superiors that all of a sudden something called Section 245(i) is an issue all across America.

One regular phoner says: "It is important to make sure that the message takers get the right message. Like most Americans, they are fuzzy on the details and the distinctions between various immigration policies, e;g., amnesty vs. 245(i), but the message takers are willing to listen to clarifications if the caller does not speak patronizingly or talk down to them."

In other words, talk to the volunteer as a fellow America but make sure they understand how concerned, angry, etc. you are at the reports you are hearing.

================================== PHONE CONGRESS

================================== Find the phone numbers in our NumbersUSA congressional phone directory:

http://www.numbersusa.com/congressinfo/

Please call:

1. Your Representative

2. Your two Senators

3. Other Representatives from your state

4. GOP House Leadership

Hastert

Delay

Armey

Blunt

5. Dem House Leaderhip

Gephart

Pelosi

6. Dem Senate Leadership

Daschle

Reid

7. GOP Senate Leadership

Lott

=============================== CONSIDER MAKING LOCAL CALLS

=============================== In our phone directory, you will notice local phone numbers for your Representative and Senators. You may want to call there and stir the local staff up enough that they will report to the DC office that the grassroots seem to be really worked up about this.

=============================== PRINT OUT THIS E-MAIL =============================== Have a printout of this e-mail handy so you can consult it as you call and also for the days hence.

=============================== WHAT TO SAY

=============================== 1. If you are inexperienced and are hesitant to make these calls, just make a very short call that says:

* name and home city

* want you to know that I am opposed to giving any kind of Section 245i amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens

* My understanding is that the White House is trying to force Section 245i through before he goes to Mexico. I urge Sen/Rep xmxmxm to stop this action.

2. If you feel more confident, please pick from comments in this e-mail and from this web page:

http://www.numbersusa.com/hottopic/245i.html You will also feel free to make your own comments.

3. Lay it on thick about the audacity of proposing rewards for immigration lawbreakers after the failure of the immigration system to protect us Sep. 11

================================= E-MAIL US WITH QUESTIONS

================================= As always, if you have any questions about procedures or the issue, e-mail Jon Eifert at info@numbersusa.com. We want you to feel confident and comfortable when you make these calls.

Good luck. And thanks for what you are doing for America, the American quality of life and for our American natural resources.

This is a email alert from numbersusa.com

Now we're fighting our own guy. What kind of madness IS this?

There is only one political party left: The Republicratican Party. We don't have "our own guy" in the White House.

90% of the American citizenry does not want more immigration. When a government disregards 90% of its citizens, it is a Tyranny.

Hi there, Mr. Member Since Mar. 5th 2002, I'd just like to point out a teeny, tiny little error in your timeline:

Proposition 187 is the law of the State of California. One federal district court judge has issued a "permanent" injunction against portions of it.

It's Constitutionality has not been ruled on since the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has not heard it, nor the Supreme Court of the United States. The opinion of one judge does not outweigh the opinion of 6 million citizens, no matter how much her ego tells her she's worth.

ANY future governor (Gobernador?) of California can appeal it. It will most likely be found to be constitutional, for a variety of reasons.

But I'll leave that to you to research.

The United States already has six million illegal aliens here already.

Actually, I do believe that after the 2000 census the US Census Bureau admits to 9 million. So you got to consider that the floor. Others put the number as high as 12-15 million.

Yep you haven't seen nothing yet. Wow maybe the US and Mexico can have a beneficial relationship, rather than one on mutual distrust along a shared 2000 mile border?

Nah that can never happen according to the naysayers. Mexicans are a dirty, lazy, corrupt people according to them.

Oh well the world was flat according to the naysayers at one time also and it seems they started their own mutual admiration society on FR and are continuing in the tradition of "the flat earth society".

Does this Amnesty Bill as proposed give amnesty to all illegals in the country at the time of passage, including not only Mexicans but also those from other countries?

Tyranny it is, when a government compels its citizens to accept invasion.

Know what surprised me? The Atlanta Journal Constitution poll that ran with 99% against it. They couldn't get more than 1% to go for it.

Meanwhile, the massive influx continues unabated.

Even Dick Morris pointed out that the Republicans are missing a bet on immigration. But that assumes that they are trying to appeal to the citizenry, and not the multinationals.

Sorry about the server but WA-HOOO!! I just left the site and FAXed off FAX 306 to Bush about 245(i)

CONSIDER MAKING LOCAL CALLS

I was listening to KLIF talk radio today and the new host was talking about the Matriculas Consulares cards. He didn't seem to fully understand the implications of the card so I informed him by email of the banking situation and Motor Voter. After a commercial break, he came back and brought those points up. He emaied me back that I brought up some good points.

This gets back to what I have said in the past. We have to get this out to the media. I have tried but the local TV stations won't even talk to me about it.

Bush isn't going to do anything for us steenkin' gringos. All he is interested in is his Mexican amigos. It makes me sick!!

500,000 faxes should send a signal to the Depublicans that folks are awake out here and we're watching them. If 245(i) does come to the floor of the House to be voted on, expect it to be at 3:00 in the morning in the dark.

I noticed one other thing. The line about 187 has another error:

Proposition 187 enacted by California Legislature prohibited physicians from providing medical care to illegal aliens

187 was an initiative passed by popular vote, not the Legislature, and provision of medical care was only one element; it prohibited public funds from being used for such care, not the care itself.

If the Stoonts at Baylor Skule of Doctorin' can't get something like that right, one wonders just exactly who would want to let them poke you with knives'n'such...

Give any form of amnesty to this undesirable batch of criminals and watch the numbers quadruple with that phony "family reunification" hogwash.

Bush should paint Air Force 1 black and remove all United States markings from it before he goes to Monterey to meet with Fox.

I respect the plane more than I do what it is carrying.

It is this side of Bush that will cause me to vote against him in 2004.

What makes this ever more depressing is that we have at least 20 Senators that are actually encouraging Bush to do this INSANE Amnesty deal. Jesse Helms????
