Actor Alec Baldwin Criticizes Gov. Bush Over Election Reform

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Actor Alec Baldwin was at the Capitol on Wednesday, much to the surprise of Gov. Jeb Bush.
"He had promised he would leave the country if my brother got elected," Bush said during a stop in Orlando. "Well he's back, I guess. We'll welcome him to Tallahassee."
But Baldwin disputed that he said he'd leave the country if George W. Bush were elected.
"I never made that statement, but you can tell Gov. Bush to rest assured that I'm not going to leave the country because we have to get him out of office and we have to get his brother out of office in 2004. We're not resting until we get that done."
Even if he had made the statement, Baldwin said there was still no reason to leave.
"Bush wasn't elected, he was selected - selected by five judges up in Washington who voted along party lines," Baldwin said.
Baldwin was in Tallahassee with People for the American Way to criticize Gov. Bush and Florida officials for not doing more to reform Florida's election system.
The state was the focus of the world during the 2000 presidential election when it took five weeks to declare George W. Bush the winner.
The election dispute ended when the U.S. Supreme Court stopped a recount. Many Democrats believe Al Gore would have won the election if the recount had not been stopped.
Lt. Gov. Frank Brogan got in on the discussion, saying outside the Capitol, "I haven't seen any of Alec Baldwin's work myself; I understand he's mildly talented."

Why are making so much fuss over something some French actor has to say?

"Bush wasn't elected, he was selected - selected by five judges up in Washington who voted along party lines," Baldwin said.Liberals are accustomed to being the beneficiaries of judicial activism. It's highly amusing to watch them squirm when they perceive themselves as victims of it.

Believe it or not Alec and Kim had a summer home the next town over from mine. We all applauded when he threatened to leave but booed when he reneged. Hopefully, now that he and Kim are splitsville he won't show his ugly mug here again.

I thought he moved to France???

Poor old Alec. He's been bustin' to do this for months but Sep. 11 took away his audience. Now, nobody is listening. What a chump the former Mr. Basinger is.
More puzzling to me is why the media believes we should be concerned about Alec Baldwin's opinion of anything other than movie scripts and cinematic concepts.

I keep waiting for baldwin to open his guestbook back up. It says it will reopen soon with a new format. That has been over a year ago. I can't wait to send him a few messages. And don't worry Alec, I submit my name, address and phone number if that is what I have to do to tell you what I think about your sorry loser a**.

"Bush wasn't elected, he was selected - selected by five judges up in Washington who voted along party lines," Baldwin said." I see Alec is a dumb as ever. A BUSH APPOINTEE sided with Gore's side.

And there's this from Drudge --

BALDWIN FURY: BLASTS REPORT; SAYS WILL NOT LEAVE USA OVER BUSH
Actoractivist Alec Baldwin, who once claimed he wanted to be "the Matt Drudge of St Barts island", blasted the DRUDGE REPORT late Monday for linking to an ASSOCIATED PRESS wire story that stated he was prepared to leave America if George W. Bush was elected president.
"First, always consider the source of anything reported as news ... in my opinion, Matt Drudge is a poor source of any reliable news information," Baldwin declared on his website.
"Drudge forces me to set the record straight... typically, his reports should be reviewed with great skepticism," Baldwin claimed.
Over the weekend the DRUDGE REPORT linked to an ASSOCIATED PRESS report that moved several times on the services "A-Wire" with the headline "Baldwins Will Leave if Bush Wins."
The AP report also appeared on the websites of the WASHINGTON POST, LOS ANGELES TIMES, NEWSDAY and dozens of others.
The wire reported: "Kim Basinger said her husband, actor Alec Baldwin, was serious when he said he would leave the United States if the Republican wins."
The DRUDGE REPORT did no original material on Baldwin, yet Baldwin [who starred in the movie MALICE, among others] singled out DRUDGE over all the other Legacy Media outlets: "Matt Drudge has reported that my wife stated in FOCUS magazine that my family would leave the country if George W. Bush were elected president....My wife and I will not leave the country, regardless of the outcome of the coming election."
It is not clear if Baldwin still fantasizes about being Drudge, as he recently revealed to COSMOPOLITAN magazine:
"If I had to say honestly what I think each of my brothers would have ended up doing [if they hadn't become actors]: bank robbery for Daniel; running a strip club or being a male stripper for Stephen; Billy would be a Catholic priest, of course, just to further drive women insane; and I would be living on a Caribbean island, with an Internet newsletter, the Matt Drudge of Saint Bart's."
***************************************
Baldwin, by the way, has failed to demand a retraction from AP or from anybody else, including Matt Drudge. And none of these news outlets have offered to retract.

Fat slob Baldwin is ticked because he's now considered homless... since there's no Klinton in the White House, clone-freak piano boy doesn't have the Lincoln bedroom to rest his Commie, Pinko loving a$$.
