An Eagle Scout who was mistaken for a bank robber and shot in the face by an FBI agent in Pasadena on Friday remained in serious but stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center last night.
Joseph Charles Schultz, 20, was shot at close range about 6 p.m. Friday when FBI agents searching for a bank robbery suspect pulled over his girlfriend's car.
Schultz, who lives in the 7900 block of Seabreeze Drive in Orchard Beach in Anne Arundel County and works with fiber optics for a local medical company, has no connection to the bank robbery, officials said.

"Reckless, absolutely reckless ..."
Jim, even from you I would have expected better than that.
This thug doesn't belong on a police force. - He did try to let the victim bleed to death, thank God for clotting!
Why can't you stand with us and call for an end to this kind of arrogant disregard of life and liberty?
This crap isn't law enforcement.
Need some help on that if you can point me in the right direction.
I notice an obvious fact that you're uncomfortable reading, and I'm reckless? For 40-minutes the agents refused to let the kid get medical attention for shot to the HEAD from an M-14 assault rifle... if not hoping for his death, then why restrain the medics? It would be obvious he had no weapons after a 10-second search, so it certainly wasn't safety or security. Care to answer that one? You'll notice that they refused to answer any questions, including pertinent ones like what weapons the robbers had, if they had fired them, or what actions by the kids in the car were sufficient to make them draw their weapons in the first place?
They barbecue women and children (with no survivors), they shoot children in the back, they shoot mothers holding their infants, they repeatedly cover up capital crimes of their agents, they refuse to hold their agents accountable for their mistakes, they fail to handle their weapons safely during a traffic stop... and I'M the reckless one?!?
Sorry, _Jim, but the reckless one was the agent who obviously needs more weapons training and some jail time, since that is exactly what any other member of society (even those with more training than the agent in question) would be facing. Is the concept of equality before the law so foreign to you?
In fact, please explain how the comment "I'm surprised the FBI let them live" is specifically reckless? What peril have I wrought with my mournful sarcasm? Is the public in danger because a few people might observe FBI agents with more scrutiny in the future? Are we as a society doomed because some more people might want to punish criminal recklessness within law enforcement? Or do you always try to ban those FReepers' comments that point out that your heroes are imperfect and ought to live under the same laws as the rest of us?
You are usually too timid to answer the tougher questions posited to you in this forum, like yesterday, but I'll hold out some hope that you'll address all of mine.
I hear they handcuffed this guy and let him bleed on the roadside for close to an hour.
That's what one post I read yesterday said.
The father of the young lady who was driving the car was on the program {Ron Smith's WBAL program as reported by Frepper jackbill) and he said that after the young man was shot in the face, he was handcuffed and laid face-down on the ground for about an hour - until the FBI found out that they had the wrong guy. Only then did they call for medical assistance. She said that while her friend was laying on the ground the FBI agents were whooping it up and refused her begging that they call medical aid. 48
Can you say "guilty until proven innocent"? The FBI agents treated Shultz as guilty until proven innocent. At the very least it's a blatant, malevolent violation of the fourth amendment.
Every pro-constitution Web site; every anti-government-abuse Web site; every government-out-of-control Web site should run with this story.... capitalize on it.
I guess they would have preferd that he died, reduces the paperwork and potential Lawsuit.
Both victims should give detailed accounts of the events in the form of signed affidavits and secure their safety from potential harassment or attacks.
WBAL radio should make copies of the radio program and secure them off site.
" He was shot because the FBI is a bunch of Keystone kops, the worst law group in the world."
Much like the DEA agents who have a propensity for getting drunk and shooting up bars.
The worst of it is that the anticonstitution liberal media and politicians use these incidences to show that the ordinary citizen can't be trusted with firearms.
