Just a thought. If there are no marks indicating reason for death on the body, I was just covering all the bases. Another thing that bothers me. A 50 year old man does not just one day become a pedophile. If he is, then he's been doing it a long time and there are other victims out there (not necessarily dead). If he has never done this before, then I would be very, very suspicious of this entire case.

He could easily have been doing it for a long time ---he lived on the border of Mexico. There are a lot of pedophiles living on the border ---they can easily commit a crime on one side, hightail it back to the other ---where it's impossible for the police to follow. Mexico has many missing children.

This is a point I've brought up several times before, and it should apply to everyone in the case to be thorough. Were there cases of molestation where Westerfield lived before, solved or unsolved? What about the van Dams? They've moved fairly frequently for a non-military family. Were there molestation cases where they lived before, during the same time frame? My guess is that the police are checking on these things, so perhaps we'll hear more about this kind of info.

We had a horrible pedophile murder here recently (also on the border). He kidnapped a little girl from a store, he brought along a change of clothes, gloves, acid to pour down her mouth and vagina to denature his DNA. He was too thorough and planned out to have committed his first murder, ---my suspicion is that some of the increased checks and delays on the bridges are inspiring the pedophiles to keep their crimes on the US side now.

I agree. But John Walsh indicated that there is an allegation that he molested someone "possibly a relative" (John Walsh's words)

Now you are saying a mouthful. This was my contention in my second post on this case, circa Feb. 9.

That if a 50-yr-old man, been through 2 marriages, raised two children, had been a pedophile...there would almost certainly be a legal (criminal) history, or EVEN FAILING THAT, then the kind of rumor and innuendo versus previous wives, neighbors, acquaintances etc that would already have created here about him, much the same kind of story as has been created about the VD's!!!

Instead, Nothing. Zip. Nada. From anyone about any part of his history.

Maybe that is what SDPD meant when they said this is far from over. Maybe it was reference to evidence and tips concerning DW rather than the parents.
