And that won't stop some people from excusing any police misuse or abuse of powers.

Uh please tell me where I excused the situation.

I commented about those who paint with a broad brush and will use any unfortunate situation to further their political point of view.

Not unlike Clinton with his famous blood dances.

Not good enough. Virtually, your first comment was about those who paint with a broad brush. It seems to me that is exactly what you were doing.

"I commented about those who paint with a broad brush and will use any unfortunate situation to further their political point of view. "

and I'm one of those who paint with a VERY broad brush... for example, when I see any law enforcement officer (ANY) intentionally disrespect or refuse to follow ANY law, I question whether we have bestowed the responsibility for enforcement on the right person. Set the big stuff aside and think for a moment what it looks like to be traveling exactly the speed limit on the freeway and regularly have state patrol cars pull out and pass me travelling at least 20 mph more than myself.

I know we're talking about serious situations with a shooting of what was apparently the wrong person here, but I bring it back to basics. If a man (or woman) does not hold the utmost respect for EVERY law on the books then that individual has no right to be attempting to enforce ANY law on the books. I know this is a very broad brush but it's how I believe.

Further, I personally believe that a very high percentage of law enforcement officers from every level, local, state and federal fall into this category.

Somewhere along the way nearly all of them developed the belief that they are above the law. This is a very sad situation and there is no making excuses for a federal agent shooting an unarmed kid. Accidental or otherwise, this man should be punished the same as a civilian would be under the same circumstances.

Contrary to the beliefs of many cops and agents on the job, You are NOT special and you deserve no special treatment If you don't like that attitude then get out of the business.
