A psychologist friend of mine with deep experience in child molestation cases tells me that the current consensus among her peers is that about 90% of all homosexuals are that way because of a specific prenatal trauma, and that the remaining 10% were made so by being molested as children. I would bet that homosexuals know this, either explicitly or from intuition.

As long as a homosexual limits his activities to other consenting men, I have nothing to say against him. Though I choose not to associate with him, he should have all the usual rights to life, liberty, and property. But preying upon children, whether heterosexually or homosexually, which has been considered a heinous offense down through the centuries, often punished by the penalty of death, is something we cannot tolerate. This thrust must be repelled unequivocally.

There is a related "thrust" now being made, as evidenced in the recent public statement by Dr. Joseph Hagan, Jr., Executive Director of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Hagan claims that children of gays "do not suffer bad outcomes" or any "increase in depression, anxiety, gender identity problems, or adjustment problems."

These are flat-out lies that cannot possibly be supported by reliable data. I happen to know someone who has been through the experience. It is hell for a heterosexual kid to be raised by a gay father. Parental modeling definitely extends to gender roles.

I think a case can be made that Hagan's statements provide useful support for the claims of Rind et al. They can say, "If kids raised by gays have no 'anxiety, depression, or gender identity problems,' why should we fear that kids who cavort with gays are any worse off either?"

"My understanding is that this is the same way that homosexuality went from being a metnal illness to a "sexual orientation.""

And to think, 2/3 were against this in the American Psychological Association in 1973, yet somehow they did it anyway. This is scary.
