lady l: In the past, you and I have agreed on most issues. On this one we are starting to diverge. Unfortunately, some years ago I was subjected to the tremendous range of emotions that accompanies the death of a young child and so have some sense of what the Van Damms are going through now. Perhaps if we think of them as Danielle's parents, rather than as the Van Damm's or the VD's, we can muster the compassion and prayer that, at least in my opinion, is warranted now.

We don't need to diverge. I was just wondering out loud. I have never lived the Van Dam's lifestyle, so I don't know what it does to your feelings about the sanctity of your family, your kids, etc. It just seems to me that that level of cynicism and amorality might blunt all "natural affection."
