What I don't understand is why Danielle didn't scream when the 'stranger' went into her bedroom and took her. Obviously her parents wouldn't have heard her but I would think that her brothers would have and the dog too, if it was able to respond. Was she 'tasered' a la Jon Benet or did she know this person?

Children can sleep very hard, I can pretty much move mine around at will, once they are out. Even when I try to wake them up to make them walk so I don't have to carry them, it's pretty hard to wake them into much more than a hypnotic dream state.

Little children sleep HARD. Haven't you seen children her age be picked-up and brought in the house from a car ride without waking up?
