"There's Brenda, rubbing onion oil into her eyes and grimacing the way her acting coaches told her."
. . .no, these are not 'onion oil' tears;
Whatever the circumstances, these parents are grieving; allow them, at the least. . .some genuine grief.

And I have noticed that this sort of speculation is typically marked as such on this thread. Not so the myriad threads concerning the Yates trial.
Most of the commentators there make statements like "there's no doubt in my mind that Russell Yates is to blame for his wife's murdering their children!"

I think there are some interesting points being made here but they tend to get lost in all the invective.
1) These rumors about the Van Dams are likely true: at first I thought the "high-placed law enforcement official" sounded bogus, but if you look at the [source] of this it seems pretty solid.
2) I think sneakypete is right: who really needs to care just how wicked the parents are? It doesn't implicate them. Two days ago I saw a woman at the busstop with a three-year-old boy. She was swanning about and the kid was playing on the snowbank about two feet away from traffic, and he had the usual motor skills you find in a pretty active three-year-old. He kept picking up hunks of snow and flinging them into the road, where there was quite a lot of traffic. I kept thinking he was going to tumble into the road with each fling and get run over, so I said to this woman, "Why don't you mind the kid instead of pacing about five yards away from him?", and she told me to mind my own business, of course, so I gave her a swift kick in the pants. Well, the last thing isn't true. But my point is that lots of parents are dumb, dumb, dumb, and you can't do anything about it. They don't expect to have their kid run over or abducted by a maniac, and so they act as if that could never happen. Luckily it doesn't - usually. But I don't think there's much point in blaming the unlucky idiots.
It is quite likely that something really funny was going on in that household. I can't figure what, though.

What's the amoral life style? By the way, what's the Bible quote..."LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE?" All this trash you people are posting about Danielle's parents "alleged lifestyle" make me want to puke. Maybe they did not directly answer because the SDPD told them not to...that it would yield them more clues!

I seem to remember a George W. Bush rally at the Federal Building in LA with a bunch of freepers....and I can say that none of us had our eyes on our kids, off the 405 freeway by that den of inequity UCLA, 100% of the time. You know it, I know it, and god knows it. There was no negligence here. Naivete, I think, by not checking why the alarm was on (if that is even true). No negligence. The mom looks like crap. Damon looks stunned. Lay off.

Sorry, I was under the impression that there was some "kinky stuff" going on with the Ramsays. If that is untrue, I apologize. That's OK. There was a lot of conjecture by different people and tabloids, but I don't think any of it had any validity. It just didn't hold water. Mr. & Mrs. Ramsey are suing one tabloid (or they already won.)

There's Brenda, rubbing onion oil into her eyes and grimacing the way her acting coaches told her ... So, Travis, I take it you believe they killed their daughter and are trying to frame Westerfield? Or are you just critiquing their grieving?

Whoa nelly... Thanks for posting this, VERY interesting to say the least. Man.... Who'd have thought this one possible? There might actually be more to this story than one wacko being at fault.
Again, thanks for posting this.

But VERY interestingly, the famous reward poster photo was her passport photo, taken THAT VERY DAY, prior to a family trip to Italy for reasons unexplained. Wait a minute. Wait just a minute! You're saying that the photo which is used in all the "Missing Person" posters was taken on the day of her disappearance for a passport photo?????
When were they going to Italy? It takes a good 30 days to get your passport! unles you pay an extra $80 to $100 to get a rush delivery which takes about two weeks.
There are just too many tid bits being added every day.

Hey, I agree with you about the parents. They're really creepy. She only started this crying thing recently, probably when her lawyer told her she didn't look sad enough. I wonder if there isn't more to this sordid case than just the evil neighbor.
To: It's me
Why would they do it in the RV when he had a big empty house??? Because DW needs an alternative explanation for the presence of his semen in the RV. Of course, now that DVD's body has been recovered, the semen focus should shift ...

Re: Love conquers Evil
Nothing in scripture, the only close reference is, as noted by someone else, Rom 12:21 "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
I notice people say this a lot, and assume it is from the bible, but it may be a variant of "Love Conquers All" originally penned by Virgil. Chaucer, in The Canterbury Tales, inscribes it on the brooch of the Prioress as "Amor Vincit Omnia."
To: tutstar
Are you implying that believing in God makes someone a member of a cult? No,just members of any organized religion.
If so turn yourself in to the moderators and relieve us of your comments.
Are the moderators some kind of secret religious police? What's the next step,re-education camps,or would it be straight to the showers?
To: itsahoot
Because of your relentles attact on people of faith who refuse to accept an amoral life style as acceptable. Just trying to even up the score a bit for all the religious whackos who attack everybody who doesn't want to live in a religious police state.
To: It's me
Why would they do it in the RV when he had a big empty house???Maybe it was more like the VD garage.
To: MadRobotArtist
I agree, this is getting really wild with speculation. If SDPD is sitting on info like this, Feldman (Westerfields Counsel) will make sure it gets out, and fast. I am sure the VD's have allies watching the forums/post for info.....who knows, maybe they are watching now!! LOL

Please be alert to the possibility that this prosecution may be deliberately "bungled." If there are others involved in deviancy in the area, they may be able to get govt. principals to do things that result in a washout. Powerful people with criminal proclivities like having sex with children - something that shocks a lot of consciences even in a time when many defend moral turpitude - have a lot of power to protect themselves.
