As I understand it, the Van Dams have been confronted with these rumours and have refused to deny them. Why should they? Maybe you would like some 8x10 color glossies?
They have just stated that their lifestyle had nothing to do with the girl's disappearance.
That's just because it doesn't. Saying it does would only implicate them in their daughter's murder, which is what you want.

Broadcast Reports are stating that Feldman and SD District Attorney are meeting to discuss possible Plea Arrangement!!!!........developing.....updates when confirmation is available...... This is not good. I sincerely hope the parents have not been involved in this.

Later reports said the dog was not debarked, but that the pooch didn't often bark. Even if he didn't bark, why didn't he try to protect the sleeping children from an intruder? Are there bite marks on Westerfield? Or was the dog perhaps familiar with the "intruder?" Some family dogs will invite a burgler in and bring him a toy to play fetch with. Not all dogs bark when greeting or warning about people. Some are easy-going and laid back or just plain friendly. I haven't read many details about the dog.

The dog was "debarked," had his voice box removed. He could bark, but only very softly. Yes, but wouldn't he have gone mad?

The dog was "debarked," had his voice box removed. Could someone please explain this to me? I have worked for a veterinarian and have never heard of such a horrible thing being done to a dog--we're not talking a simple neutering procedure here.

Thank you Jodi... I understand the passion against parental negligence. We've all seen or heard about numerous cases via the media. I don't understand prejudging, assuming, gossip and hatefilled hearts before the facts have even come out. It's impossible to know what the parents are truly truly going through.

the larynx is removed so the dog cannot bark.

My 9 year old son has/had a glass light diffuser covering the two lightbulb set up over the middle of his bedroom. Two nights ago it fractured for some unknown reason (fatigue from heating and cooling over many years getting to some glass flaw? Who knows.)
Anyway, this 18" square sheet of smoked glass fell, hit the wooden foot of his bed and blew into a hundred pieces and a thousand chips. It sounded like someone threw a brick through a window, it was LOUD!!!!
Hi didn't wake up. Didn't budge. Nine year olds play hard I guess... He didn't even wake up when I went in and turned on the lights to clean the broken glass off the floor and the foot of his bed.
After that, I am not surprised the VD boys didn't wake up.
And who knows, perhaps Westerfield had "visited" her room other friday nights, when he knew Brenda and Damon would be "tied up" with "friends" in the garage? Perhaps he had traced that path before, even if only to get the feeling of power from invading their sanctuary?
It just feels to me like he really knew what to expect in that house.

Yeah, what's the private argument all about? Your hostility levels are distracting me from the general bashing going on around here.

With that little choker around her neck, it sure makes it look like she was being groomed for the porn industryI know kids can have a favorite article like that, but it is weird that she seemed to always have it on.
Why do some think it is such a stretch to suspect these parents may have seen nothing wrong with involving their daughter in their perversion? It is not as if people possess two standards of morals and judgment.
If they believe their activities are healthy and fine, do they do a 180 when it comes to their children? Do they bounce back and forth with some type of bizarre schizophrenia? I doubt it.
My guess is that they have somehow justified their deviance and see nothing wrong with it until it comes time for it to be questioned.

some people just don't understand that young girls must be watched over because of pervert sicko's in this world. i will not let my kid sleep over anyones house unless i have known the parents for a while. the same goes for when young girls are dumped at friends houses, who is coming and going in that house? what kind of friends do the parents have? some people do not think enough about this. i do not trust anyone, i have a sister in law that dumps her 12 year old daughter at anyone's house she is a clear headed ass, none of the above issues i bring up even cross her mindless mind. i don't get to see my neice that much but i make sure i get my say in when i'm with her.
