Did you know it takes over 24 hours to drive around Lake Michigan?

What about just swimming across it?

Roughly 75 miles swimming at 1.5 miles/hour in frigid waters; I'd rather drive. Of course, a good boat can do it in less than 4 hours, so if you can afford the ferry between Manitowoc and (I forget the Michigan end), and you're stuck in the middle, do it.

The narrowest part is about 40 miles across. In swimming time, it take me about 3 years.
