Your past contributions are mightily appreciated and so is your kindness in bumping this thread. I hope someone answers your questions. What does "Shalom" mean? It sounds nice.

What does "Shalom" mean? It sounds nice.

It is Hebrew. It is usually translated as peace. However, it doesn't simply mean to wish "the absence of conflict" so much as it means to wish "the restoration of what is right and good." Because of that deeper meaning, I write "shalom" (even though it's represents almost all the Hebrew I know) instead of the weaker "peace."
