When Jim Robinson started Free Republic in September, 1996 to expose the corruption in government and particularly the Clinton Whitehouse, he was alone. Now six years later, Free Republic has 80,000 registered members and who knows how many visit this site often, just to keep up on the latest conservative thinking.

Folks, you all know where this is going, Free Republic is a user supported website and it is time to support it. Four times a year we have this freepathon to donate a few dollars to pay for the bandwidth and expenses necessary to keep Free Republic online, and we do so with gratitude and cheer because of what is offered and accomplished by the existence of Free Republic.

Free Republic does not charge a membership fee or get supported by a government grant. No, people from across the World make donations large and small because they see the value of Free Republic. The 35%-done report sees a new state break into the top 5, the top 6 each going over $1,000, some movement a bit below the top 5, and a request that since I'm a Cheddarbrain, that Wisconsin gets the green and gold treatment (one that I'm not going to do at least this time).

FReepathon State Challenge: (thanks, 2ndMostConservativeBrdMember, for starting this up so many FReepathons ago)

During every FReepathon, we try to keep track of what each state donates. When you make your donation, let BADJOE know what state it's coming from, and when he reports it, it'll get credited to the state or country of your choice.

If someone from New York, Texas and Ohio (the remaining top 5 states without a color), any foreign countries and a deployed serviceman wants to see their state/country in color, sing out. It would look so much better than the bold I have now.

While we're on colors, there's 4 states on the Sissy Pink list. That means that nobody from those locales has sent a dime in new money yet (either a new donation or an increase in their monthlies). Please end the embarrassment.
