You guys are judging based on gossip. That is absurd. Me mentioning deviant lifestyles..or broadening the subject of deviant lifestyles isn't absurd. I'm trying to point out what can cause a person to become victimized. Criminolgy 101.

Chandra levy lived a bit of a deviant lifestyle...and she paid for it with her life. But, everyday, people have affairs and assume that they will not die because of it.

What are you judging on? Are you privy to indisputable facts or are you relying on what you hear, as are the rest of us?

There are risks regardless of what we do. Staying at home under the bed does not keep one safe from the ceiling falling in unexpectedly. However, some risks are just plain reckless. Here in Oklahoma, there is a saying: if you lie down with dogs, you get fleas. Essentially, if you hang out with lowlifes, you get lowlife kinds of problems. Do lowlifes sometimes masquerade as pious churchgoers? Of course. But your chances of finding a lowlife are really much higher if you go go places where lowlifes go. Bringing said lowlifes home is, to me at least, an uncceptable risk. It goes far beyond bringing a churchmember home for dinner--the expectation there is that this is a decent Christian person. The expectation with a barfly is considerably lower.

I couldn't care less what kind of a "deviant" lifestyle anyone lives, as long as the children don't suffer the consequences.

As far as the forum judging the van Dams on rumor and innuendo, it is after all a "forum" and on the average, the result has been "where there's smoke, there's fire"...so you are entitled to have your head in the clouds, and we are entitled to come down to earth.
