The place where they want to do the drilling is not the beautiful, mountainous area they show clips of when running these stories. It is flat, desolate, and pretty much nothing but permafrost.

The reality is, if I were to send someone up there, in a week they would be clawing their way to get out. That land is romanticized to the point of insanity. The reason caribou migrate is because they are chased by insects. An injured animal is eaten by them in hours.

You might notice the nights are a trifle long in the winter.

If you are looking for a pleasant retirement spot, don't move there.
