BTW, the "puppies" are part of the overall problem...three Dacshunds and a German Shepherd. When the cold months roll around, they get "lazy", and don't like to do their business outside, but on my floors, rugs, etc. My once beautiful house smells of dacshund piss. Try living like that for a few years. It adds to the overall problem. I'm not a slob, and I don't think "normal" people like to live like this. I won't. Not anymore. Is this a joke? You are blaming the dogs?! Four dogs with 'incontinence', hello! It's not the dogs who are lazy. OMG, no wonder she left. I feel bad about your broken down marriage and all but for God's sake start by cleaning the house and letting those dogs know who's boss. If you can't take charge of your pets how can you expect to be the head of a family? Take a good look and the mirror, face reality, deal with it, and Godspeed.

If my cats know that I'm boss, then anybody's dogs should catch the clue. Presuming it's there.
When your pets know that they rule the roost, you can expect them to rule it their way. And guess what? When you rule the roost, not only is your life happier, but your pets will be happier too. (Unless you "rule" it like a clymer by abusing them, but that's not topical for this thread.)
