What greater proof do we need that our "friends" are not really our friends?

Anyone recall the hostage situation in 1979 - 80? Anyone heard an apology? All I seen was a bunch of irate Iranians with bleeding heads burning my countries flag.

"The friends of the United States have to advise them that, instead of unilateralism, they should stick to multilateralism," Kharrazi told reportersI have some advice for Mr. Kharrazi: "The friends of Iran advise them that, instead of terrorism, they should stick to their own business!"

Tell you what...knock off all the crap about "the Great Satan", which I believe began in your fine country over 20 years ago and then maybe we'll talk. Maybe.

Something tells me that Bush's statement made an impact on the mullahs.
No world power should simply "declare someone as a terrorist and use its military muscle against them," Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said
Who said anything about military muscle? According to some reports Iran's government is barely hanging on -- the little guys are too busy watching Bay Watch reruns on satellite TV to join the Revolutionary Guard.....

What greater proof do we need that our "friends" are not really our friends? Well, you're right. We have no friends in the middle-east, which in turn makes me wonder if we should be involved in the area at all.

Iran:
Stop persecuting Jews, Bahai's and Christians.
Stop developing WMD.
Stop funding Hezbollah.

We'll stop saying Axis of Evil when they stop saying Death to America. That very minute.

If I ruled Iran, I would want the U.S. to drop the Axis of Evil idea too. And naturally, I would want the U.S. to act only if the Europeans went along. Maybe only act if Jimmy Carter joined in as well.
But I'm not from Iran. :)

No world power should simply "declare someone as a terrorist and use its military muscle against them," Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said before talks with his German counterpart, Joschka Fischer. What about unilaterally calling the USA the "Great Satan" and for every day for the last 20 years pumping the media and mosques to state that America is evil?
"The friends of the United States have to advise them that, instead of unilateralism, they should stick to multilateralism," Kharrazi told reporters. He spoke during a two-day visit to Berlin to discuss Afghanistan and the Middle East with German officials.
The theocrats in Iran are scared. Even adopting the Eurocrat elite verbiage of "unilateralism" etc. to stop the pressure.
