Klinton solved that problem by not buying any 5.56 and 9mm ammo, so nobody can tell how bad the Army is. Killed two birds with no expenditure of rounds.
Many regular and reserve units have not had any rounds for training for years under the klintons. What little ammo that was out there was saved for units being sent overseas on the "meals on wheels" program. Other units could get ammo, but only a few rounds per person.
So not only are we still short of high-tech stuff like cruise missiles and smart bombs, but even dumb bullets. But the klintons so thoroughly trashed our production base, forcing many companies to get out of the defense business, that it will be hard to make these items fast enough to restock our inventories.
