Make that South Central Florida. Central Florida usually refers to the Orlando-Kissimmee-Cocoa-Daytona areas.
Moore Haven is a little spec of a town on the western side of Lake Okeechobee, about 200 miles south of Orlando.
It is indeed out in the sticks. I lived in Okeechobee for a year (a long time ago) and for a former Long Islander, it was quite the culture shock. Friendly people, though.
