PITTSBURGH -- Apparently committed to more colorful meals, the folks who brought you purple and green ketchup are ready with three more colors: Pink, orange and teal.
H.J. Heinz Company in late April will roll out a limited supply of one million EZ Squirt bottles, each camouflaging one of three new colors of ketchup inside.
Buyers won't know, until they squirt it on a burger or fries, which color they have. Customer reaction will help decide which of the three becomes Heinz' new permanent hue and is added to the current palette of red, green and purple.

I kind of like the shrink wrapped tuna, but tomatoes are red. Period.

Can't wait until some scientific genius discovers that all these colors cause cancer in labratory rats as happen with a red dye years ago.

As long as they don't fool around with mustard, I don't care what color ketchup other people consume.

Gotta come up with something different before the product liability lawyers and the FDA dictate the color that they have to use!

My daughters liked both the green and the purple ketchup. They said it tasted just like the regular red stuff. I'll have to take their word for it as I can't get past the color to even try it! (Well, I did put the purple ketchup on top of meatloaf once-I don't recommend this though, as it turned an ugly grey color).

This could also promote cultural diversity and open up new markets: (1)Black ketchup - Africa; (2)Yellow ketchup - China; (3)Mud-colored ketchup - Palestinians.
Options are endless and, Willie, you will happy to know it should keep those high paying, technical jobs at home!!!

Re: Meatloaf and purple ketchup
My 9 year old daughter and I live with my parents while I'm finishing college (hard to get by on $12,000 a year). Mom was cooking up a pot of baked beans and we were out of the regular red ketchup, so she added the purple ketchup. I tried them, and they tasted just like her regular baked beans...but just couldn't get past that ugly gray that they turned...

Whirled pea colored ketchup - babies (and frat. boys/girls after a good night).

My 3 year old wanted the purple ketchup so we bought it. I don't know if I can eat it though.
The margarine colors look kind of Easter-y. I predict sales going through the roof next month.
