I think you are wrong. In my profession we but implants and biometrics in people all the time. They are programed by magnets. We change pacemakers with such a magnetizer. The Veep has a programable pacer/defibrillator in his chest. Infection never, except in a few diabetics. No insuarance companies are pushing this very hard. LEA's, the Armed Forces, etc,,, You will need one more American terror attack like 9/11 and people will line up like sheep. See you soon brother.

They didn't say where they plan to implant these, did they?
They may start in soft tissue, but the implant could get lost.
They HAVE to use the forehead or hand. They will "have no choice."
But they will try the other first, to quiet the masses concerns.
You know, once everyone has one, and the correction has to be made due to functional problems.

I'm no prophecy expert, and I certainly don't know much about electronics/biometrics/computers, etc.; but this technology just doesn't seem to be enough yet to measure up to the job.
If no man can buy or sell without the mark, we'll have to be a cashless society. We have forerunners to that now, of course. But the ability to buy and sell will actually have to be in the implanted chip to prevent anyone from buying or selling without it.
In order to achieve that, the chip will have to be interactive. It will need to store a great deal of information-name, address, financial records, health & medical records, assorted authorizations for access, travel, etc. It will also have to contain some kind of confirming biometric info to prevent the chip from being used by someone else. It will obviously provide for continuous tracking.
Whether that technology is already sitting on the shelf somewhere, I don't know. I just don't buy that it's in THIS implant.
Nonetheless, we are told told watch.

For the last 80 years (especially the last 10) many many citizens have wanted a big gov't to take care of them because they wanted 'economic' security.
Please take care of me! I want everything the previous generation had and maybe more.... and I'm entitled to it.
Now, if you add to that a great fear for physical security, (which we've had in the last 6 months big time), then it'll be that much more of push for trading freedoms for security.
