I've bought 2 Dells in the past and won't again. They don't put enough money into engineering. The machines are not the best quality. Both of my Dells failed. Personally I'm happy with my HP machine now.

Toshiba
Dell
EMachines
Still lots of suppliers out there. IBM, Gateway, Compaq, Sony. Should be enough to choose from.

Find a local computer dealer, one that's been around for more than a year or two. One that promises on-site service for what they sell. Pay the little extra, it's well worth it in the long run.

I’ve had Dells in the past.
They are higher priced normally. But worse, unless they’ve changed their ways, they have a nasty habit of using proprietary parts so you have to go back to them to purchase replacement parts.
