Usually the letters RSV are used to refer the "Revised Standard Version". [That is the 1953 version produced by the NCC and there is now a ("gender inclusive")NRSV out. Yours obviously must be something else. Can you determine from the title page what the "RSV" stands for in your version?
The only modern language Catholic bible I have seen is the "New American Bible" (the "NAB") [not to be confused with the New American Standard Bible ("NASB")a very good word for word translation, but not expressly Catholic]. The NAB's NT was done in 1986, the Psalms in 1991 and the rest earlier. It is a huge -- make that HUGE -- step forward over anything the RCC had done before in terms of both accuracy and readability.
