RALEIGH, N.C. -- Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms shut down part of north Raleigh late Friday night and early Saturday morning. A joint weapons investigation by the two agencies resulted in one man killing himself and left passers-by asking a lot of questions.

Oh, my....
I considered simply renting a storage locker to store in Nevada the rifles which have now been outlawed in Kalifornia. They were outlawed because they had the "icky" appearance of "assault rifles", which are select fire by definition.
For future reference, I am not now nor have I ever been suicidal.
I also heard they were suppose to have a press conference today about 1 PM EST, but I haven't heard anything since then.
authorities claimed a man who looked like the main suspect approached them.
Looked like the main suspect.
About an hour later, police said they heard a muffled gunshot in the woods... "Ultimately, we were able to enter that wooded area and we located a white male who had taken his own life with a weapon that was on the scene -- a firearm there," Teem said.
So they found a dead man with presumably a fatal gun shot wound and a gun in the immediate area.
Police believe it is the man who approached them earlier at the storage facility.
In other words, it looked like the main suspect that they had seen earlier at A+ Self Storage.
Police are not identifying the man they found in the woods until they notify the next of kin.
No mention that the dead man who they have identified but not told next of kin, is or is not the main suspect. A+ Self Storage has the name of the person whom they rented the storage locker. Most likely the same person that rented the storage locker was also the one storing the weapons inside the locker.
Had the 2nd amendment been upheld as the founders intended none of this would have happened.
Sounds as though you have described a few folks who participate on FR. :<{}
lets see, if I was going to my starage locker, and it was surrounded by cops with guns , and they "challenged" me, I just might think they were trying to kill me as well
