Biggest lie of the left. Poverty causes crime.

Any number of legitimate studies have shown a well defined correlation between income/crime/unemployment.

Biggest lie of the right. Race causes crime

I have never seen that charge. Can you point me to a source.

Sorry for the late reply. If poverty causes crime, then affluence must cause honesty. The oddity in this logic is that many people who think poverty causes crime also think that rich people are evil. There's a curious contradiction in there. By ordinary logic, a billionaire should then be the kindest person in the world.
I look around and I see there are about as many white collar criminals as criminals from the underclass, and I look at poor people and see that only a few of them live lives of crime. So, what's the deal?
Behavior, not bank account, not the libido, not the God you worship or the side of the tracks you hail from, determines your proper worth. Everything else is extraneous.
This liberating idea, means you no longer have to check people's skin color, bloodlines or bank account to gauge their merit. You need only deal with how they do what they do.

I may have mis-thought the phrasing on the lie of the right. It would be better stated that race alone can be used as a measure of worthiness and justice.
This lie has been the cause of history's most horrific excesses -- the Holocaust, the excesses of Japanese fascists, the genocide in Bosnia today -- it has been put largely to rest in this country.
There are only two races -- the decent and the indecent. We are only allowed or justified to hate those who behave indecently -- not the race these individuals happen to belong to.
Thanks for making me rethink my phrasing, hope my opinions are easier to understand now.
