Low level leak perhaps from Command Staff

KEEP ON ROLLIN', Eagles Up!

A good rout of Iraq sounds good after the NCAA basketball tourney.

If it's true, I hope Albanian, Chechen and Bosnian Muslim terrorists' providers are planning massive purchase of underpants.

In spite of the reputation of the sources, I believe that we are likely to move against Iraq within the next two months. There has been a noticeable escalation of anti-Iraqi rhetoric from the Bush administration within the last few weeks. And if any connection can be drawn between Iraq and Daniel Pearl's horrid little murderers, then the time to move, politically speaking, is sooner rather than later.

I may be wrong, but I'm going to bookmark back to this posting if I prove to be right!

The administration is dropping hints, but I was under the impression that our arsenal was severely depleted and it would take many months to build it back up to the level where we'd be comfortable starting another big fight.

From what I have read of the ordnance situation, I think a move on Iraq is still far away.

One problem with this is that there has been no troop movements, activation of reserves, preparation of large transport ships, etc., all those things that are necessary as a preamble to a large scale military operation, and impossible to hide in this day and age.

We spent almost a year with the Desert Shield buildup in preparation for Desert Storm. President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Secretary Rumsfeld are good, but they are not good enough to keep a secret of a mobilization of the magnitude required to engage Iraq.

Depends what World Net means by 'military action'-that could just be taking out Iraq's airforce.

Looks like we could be entering the "military advisor" stage right now. You're right about deployment....it would be more than 1-2 mos off. I would guess they are making the early moves but hedging their bets.

The best time politically to attack Iraq (for the Bush adm) is just a month or two before the November elections.

Bingeaux-As callous as it is (thank you, democRats and Rinos), the timing has to be just right. The house to house fighting and mop-up, hence the body bags, has to occur after the election.

Or that is what they want the enemy to believe and then... wammo...surprise attack.

We spent almost a year with the Desert Shield buildup in preparation for Desert Storm.

More like four-five months (August, 1990-Jan. 1991). And, Rumsfeld is said to believe we only need 100,000 troops, not the 1/2 million marshalled during Desert Shield.

You seem to be assuming that these guys care where their brown-plumed "national bird" decides to perch....

"We spent almost a year with the Desert Shield buildup in preparation for Desert Storm."

It took about six months... and that was to deploy almost 1/2 mil troops. We have had pre-position caches in the area for years.
