BEIJING -- The Chinese government responded to President Bush's call for religious tolerance on Friday by promptly editing out his remarks on freedom and faith in its transcript of a speech that Bush delivered on live national television.
Before Bush had even boarded Air Force One to return to Washington, D.C., Friday afternoon, China's state-controlled media put out their version of the address that he had given that morning in front of an audience of university students.

That's because the Chinese regarded Bill Clinton as weak. They realized that Clinton's foreign policy was still colored by his objections to the US involvement in Viet Nam and that Clinton was afraid to assert the full power of the United States outside of our own borders. In other words, Clinton was a coward.
