I don't know, I think there are other ways of showing respect than doing this. Did you get a look at Peggy Flemming's face when Sarah won and not Michelle? She was stunned and did not look too happy.

I saw Peggy's reaction, she was just as surprised as the rest of us.

I agree it was a good move not to make too much of this last night, to take away from Sarah's victory.

Dunno about that. I told my wife when I saw her face that Peggy had done the math real fast and knew Sarah had won gold. My impression was she was delighted. Wish I had waited up for the medal ceremony.

Speaking of which, did you see Kristi Yamaguchi's (who remains my all-time favorite female skater...unless Sasha does a better Bjork program:) reaction when Hughes was announced the winner? She was thrilled and screamed with excitement! SHE knew who deserved it and what a longshot it was.
