You better run to your pals in government and get them to do your bidding.

Not at all. That's what you are doing. They won't do it. It is your job to advocate your views and the government should butt out.

And the more that you petition government to punish homosexuals the more power you are advocating that they have to punish you for whatever thing you do that is "anti-good-society" such as own guns.
