A cycler could be useful if we build a rather large one that can comfortably sustain a crew for several months. A small, high-power spacecraft can boost the crew to it. This spacecraft could be a tenth of the mass of the cycler.

Arg, We could've sent humans to half the solar system by now if only we continued at the cold war pace of space exploration, all this cooperation and international consortium bullsh*t is slowing down human expansion into the final frontier, what we need is some old fashioned competition of resources and prestige.
