Anybody got any stats on how many students are in the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, and how many of them are actually protesting Laura Bush?

UCLA’s ranked list of potential speakers:

1. Osama Bin Laden
2. PeeWee Herman
3. Rosie O’Donnell
4. Ted Turner
5. Hanoi Jane
6. Bubba “the rapist”
7. Mike Tyson
8. Michael Jackson
9. Jessie Jackson
10. Anyone from that ACLU
11. Anyone form the NAACP Klan
12. Anyone from ABCNBCCBSCNN
13. Any Homosexual
14. Nobody
15. Laura Bush

Clearly, Laura Bush finished last. How could UCLA be expected to select a last-place finisher and put her first? UCLA’s integrity and scholastic excellence could be questioned if they were to settle for anything less than someone at least as good as The Very Most Reverend Albert Sharpton – or someone at least at that level.

Gee, and I just finished reading an article in my local rag about "diversity" and "profiling".

Ya gotta love these leftists...At least they aren't intolerant and narrow-minded.

If the students want some scumbag socialist liberal to talk to them like they are six-year-olds and load them up with a fix of synthetic and temporary "self-esteem", then the school should bring in a scumbag liberal. There's plenty of them available.

On the other hand, I suspect that "the students" referred to in this story are but a small handful of ugly, bitter, lesbian malcontents.

But hey, the author found a "story", and that's the main thing.

Please read this slowly and get help from your mommy with the Big words!

What was the last good thing to come out of California? Oh, Reagan. I am just amazed at the universities in California.

Let's keep in mind that this is a graduate school of education. The degrees from these schools are notoriously and laughably pointless. American graduate schools of education are of such hideously poor quality that the Gourman Report on Graduate Studies refuses to give an "acceptable" rating to even a single program in the country.

These ridiculous schools are a long-standing fraud and a public menace. I don't recall the guy's name, but the president of Harvard was asked in the mid-1930's what single action could be taken to improve academic standards at the university. His response: "Wrap the entire faculty of the School of Education in a burlap sack and drown them en masse in the Charles River."

In this War on Terrorism that we are currently waging, would it be a BAD thing to bomb California?

I've read the thread, and the responses on this thread. Laura has two choices:

1) - Speak at UCLA and prove how gracious she is as First Lady of the United States of America.

or

2) - Speak at a University where the gracious students would Welcome out First Lady.<>PAll this other diatribe about cutting funding to public schools and armchair stuff is unralistic. Too much "wishing" here, and not enough realistic alternatives and/or answers.

Tara Watford, no information:

Have fun!
