You are welcome to be sympathetic or unsympathetic to anything you please, but I stand by my statement. On second thought, perhaps "pointless" may not be the correct word. Hmm.... "Useless?" How about "dangerous?" "Fraudulent?" "Misleading?" "Manipulative?" "Agenda-Driven?" Agenda-Riven?"
Based on empirical evidence alone, we can safely say that whatever these programs teach, it does not work, and, in fact, does demonstrable, positive harm.
You sound like an academic windbag, used to endless talking but never listening. Read post #63 to learn all I have to say on the subject.
I read Post # 63 soon after it appeared, and, as yet, have been unable to reconcile it your posting to me. You succinctly point out the silliness of these education degrees in Post #63, then defend them in your statement to me. Post-modernist thought in action? If so, did you learn to think this way in the degree program itself?
Regarding my being "like" a windbag, remember (again) that I've read Post #63, so I must ask -- ever heard of something called "projection"?
Sorry, but if you can't discern the flaw in your original assertion even after it was pointed out, you are still playing in the minor leagues. Don't quit your day job.
I think you think you know what you're trying to say, but I don't think you know what you've actually said. Assuming you have pointed out my "flaw" -- which, truth be told, you have not -- please be patient and do so again.
But don't hurt yourself.
