The French are what they are: incredibly self-absorbed, utterly amoral, pleasure-focused, and also unbelievably arrogant. Their foreign policy is an enigma. And, they have been doing business with the Middle East with blindfolds on and their pockets filled for generations.
Recall the Mel Gibson film, 'The Patriot?' One of Mel's memorable lines was,.... 'The French' .....
Frogs are Frogs.
Reminds me of a passage in the David McCullough masterpiece
John Adams where Adams is writing about the French Revolution and says something like..."I shudder to think about a nation of 30 millions atheists...".
Very approriate then, even more so now.
