natureikarta ^ | 12 February, 2002

Posted on 02/18/2002 11:03:34 AM PST by Sam_Watkins

Estimated 20,000 Orthodox Jews demonstrating on Tuesday February 12th, in front of the Israeli Consulate in New York City, organized by the Central Rabbinical Congress of USA and Canada, to voice their opposition to the existence of the state of Israel, their suppression of religion and brutal treatment of religious people.

The posters read as follows: [L-R] "Israel" dos not represent world Jewry
Rabbinical leaders fought Zionism since its inception
Authentic Rabbis always opposed Zionism and the State of Israel
Zionism have no right to rule over any part of the holy land
No doubt! Herzl's dream was a catastrophe for Jews
Zionism stole the name of Jews
"Israel" dos not represent world Jewry
Jews mourn 53 years existence of "Israel"
True Jews will never recognize Israel
Torah Jewry is united against Zionism & the State of Israel
Zionist ideology opposes the Creator
Oh No! Zionism will never succeed
We are against "Israel" because we are Jews
Zionism and Judaism are extreme opposites
Background sign: Israeli government: stop oppressing religious Jewry in the State of Israel

Askel, exactly what do you, yourself, know about Neturei Karta? If your answer is nothing, you can take no position on this whatsoever.

Veronica certainly is the nastiest.

You have just proved your inexperience on and ignorance of, threads concerning Israel or Jewish subjects. Veronica is a lady....especially compared with some of the filth around here.

This probably derives from dissatisfaction with herself, probably related to her physical appearance.

An attempt at analysis? Don't quit your day job.

Estimated 20,000 Orthodox Jews

I am curious as to the source of this news. If it's the NYT, then the numbers are unquestionably inaccurate. If, OTOH, it's the Wall Street Journal, I'm more inclined to believe the figures.

Do beautiful women with brains bother you, John? If so, you are most definitely on the wrong forum.

They deny the right of Israel to exist? That does surprise me. (I could see their having a problem with a secular state, I guess. Seems to corrupt a faithful people as a rule.)

But on what grounds do they object? (Rabbinic prohibitions against the hastening of Redemption or what?)

They’ll be glad to explain it.

What Is the Neturei Karta

Our Mission

If there were 20,00, they must have cloned themselves. I don't think there are that many around here.

Found this while searching for ["naturei karta" +farrakhan] in the hopes

Well, I think it should be "Neturei Karta" and not "Naturei". And they would, quite probably, be supporting Farrakhan - in fact, at least one of them have if I remember correctly. Just as they tend to support anyone wanting to drive Israel into the sea. Good thing there are so few of them - closer to twenty than twenty thousand :)).

from this site ... about which I know absolutely nothing.

Rotfl. Of course you don't. I found this little thing particularly revealing:

I am curious as to the source of this news.

I am too. I know that the soi-disant "ultra-Orthodox" community is capable of assembling huge crowds on a moment's notice, but the "Neturei Karta" are the fringe of the fringe. Now, if one of their leaders were to, cholileh, pass away (quietly in sleep after a ripe old age of 120), there would be a MIGHTY THRONG at the funeral. I mean, even I would go.

That said ... if you've read the thread, you know already that, thus far, I've (1) disagreed with one of the signs in a rebuke of "men as gods" and (2) asked questions.

Would you care to field the question Veronica refuses to ask?

Rotfl. Of course you don't.

It's not my style to be coy, Cachelot.

In any case, the history of both fascist and Soviet support for Zionist terrorists is documented fact.

Somewhere on the forum is cached a little nugget I found on the Star of David. I'll see if I can dig it up and get your expert opinion on that.

(I think I spelled naturei wrong again ... I must be confusing it with Traumerei, one of my favorite slips of Schumann of all time.)

I'm happy to read the NK site for kicks but I think I'm more interested in what the Rabbinical Congress has to say, to be honest.

I prefer my sources as reliable and objective as possible.

Thanks for the links, though.

is there any criticism of the STATE of Israel which does not denote either anti-semitism (in the case of Gentiles) or insanity (in the case of Jews)?

I hope you don't mind me responding to this. The answer to your question is "yes". For example, I criticize the State of Israel frequently for not exterminating terrorists. My concern is the preservation of Jewish life and faith. Criticism of Israel which is based on this concern is NOT anti-Semitic.

The history of radical Jewish anti-Zionist Neturei Karta "The Jewish Taliban" is interlocked with (how shall I put this?) the homosexual agenda. Want proof? Do a search on "Yaakov Yisrael De Haan" (considered a "saint" by Neturei Karta and by gay activists.)

But my question asks for only a

"yes" (purely objective criticism of the State of Israel is possible)

I haven't seen any purely objective criticism of israel in all the time I've been here. Suppose you give me an *objective* example?

or

"no" (all such criticism is the product of either insane Jews or anti-semite Gentiles).

In this particular case, these people are fanatics who think only they have the right to expound on Israel and/or ALL Jews. They have not been elected, they are not in any way revered, but disdained by most of the Jewish Community, and actually, I would consider them a cult.
As for the other, as I said, give me an example of purely objective criticism. as I have yet to see any.

Orhtodox do not recognize the secular state of Israel, but a religious one.

Everyone is confusing everything around here.

Orhtodox do not recognize the secular state of Israel, but a religious one.

Haredi ("ultra-Orthodox") Jews do not recognize the secular state of Israel as the redemption on earth, or the beginning of the redemption. However, as a practical matter, they do recognize the need to defend the Jews who are living in the Holy Land, and also recognize the eternal bond of the Jewish people to the Holy Land.

True Peace
