Rightist Rally Hears Speech From Giuliani

FORWARD STAFF JERUSALEM — "New York's Mayor Giuliani spoke by telephone this week to a right-wing rally here at which speakers called for the dissolution of the Palestinian Authority and several speakers urged the mass expulsion of Palestinians from Israel's occupied territories.

The rally, staged by the Council of Settlers of Judea, Samaria and Gaza, was billed as a memorial for slain Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi.

Drawing a boisterous crowd of 80,000 mainly Orthodox Jews to Jerusalem's Zion Square, its themes included stepping up the war against terrorism and banishing Yasser Arafat from the territories. At least four speakers, including a leader of Ze'evi's Moledet Party, Knesset Member Benny Elon, called for the "transfer" of the Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza to the 22 other Arab nations as demonstrators brandished signs that described Mr. Arafat and Osama bin Laden as "twins."

Just wondering. So it is the numbers you have a problem with, or is it that they are Orthodox?

If you look at my other post you will note that MOST Orthodox Jews are very Conservative and very devoted to Israel. They also tend to vote Republican here.

What do you know about natureikarta?

Go learn about them before you post on this subject please.

Zionist ideology opposes the Creator

That seems a little harsh. Supercedes, perhaps.

More importantly, are they "anti-semitic" by virtue of their condemnation of the STATE of Israel?

Oh I am sure on any given day a whole slew of nuts are protesting outside the UN. (-:

Once again -

'Drawing a boisterous crowd of 80,000 mainly Orthodox Jews to Jerusalem's Zion Square, its themes included stepping up the war against terrorism and banishing Yasser Arafat from the territories.'

A favorite pic, Naturei Karta forging alliances with the Minister, I guess:

Naturei Karta having (Kosher?) lunch with Louis Farakhan

Amazing that groups like this have been around for decades (nearly a century in their case), but it's big, big news for some on FR.

Fair enough ...

(Your characterization of UN protestors as "nuts" is noted.)

I'll ask the more important question again: Are these folks "anti-semites" by virtue of their criticism of the STATE of Israel?

No, they are not anti-Semitic, just meshugena

They are also a tiny sect of oddballs, not unlike Christians who believe Christ never lived.

There are such Christians you know.

They are waiting for the Messiah..........do not believe Israel is the promised land and have ALWAYS been anti zionists......to call them kooks is ignorant of their beliefs.

If a homeless person begging at the corner of Sunset and Vine says Israel is bad -- it's news to some people on FR. (-:

Ah ... Jews who critize the STATE of Israel are "insane".

(Your signaturely leftist smear of mental instability is noted.)

In your strictly personal opinion, is there any criticism of the STATE of Israel which does not denote either anti-semitism (in the case of Gentiles) or insanity (in the case of Jews)?

I have stated my opinion of this tiny group. Feel free to continue to debate this issue at your pleasure.

FYI, they don't indulge in criticism of the State of Israel, they deny the right of Israel or any Jewish State to exist. No, these people aren't anti-Semitic. Anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism aren't equivalent, though as MLK noted, where you find the first, you usually find the second, but not always.
