NEW HAVEN -- The prosecutor stood before the judge and bluntly described the defendant's crimes: former Yale professor Antonio Lasaga had repeatedly raped a little boy and had obsessively collected tens of thousands of images depicting the sexual torture of children.

The crimes are not in dispute. They were horrific enough that Lasaga's family wept in court Friday when they heard them recounted.

They were horrific enough to merit, in the judge's view, a 20-year sentence.

> The prosecutor touches on the fundamental problem facing the Western world...

He sure does. Good observation.

It's worth noting that the leftist "utopia" has always been a fairy tale. Nothing like it has ever existed. None of the socialists' schemes has ever borne good fruit. They live in a world of myth and make-believe and self-serving lies. When they criticize the real world, it is by comparison with this made-up utopia that will never be.

A powerful faith this, that keeps trying after 150 years of brutal failure. But very, very stupid.

> he'll be in protective custody

Do we know this? At the moment, I'm kind of hoping he won't get it. If so, the cons will teach him before a week is out what was wrong with what he was doing to the boy. Lasaga certainly could use this sort of moral instruction :-)

A few moments later, a Princeton-trained professor who collaborated with Lasaga while he was under house arrest stood and suggested the government's claims of abuse were misunderstandings. He speculated that Lasaga's hands must have slipped while he was playing with the boy and the mistake was misconstrued as fondling.

This sicko professor not only molested this poor child from when the kid was 7 years old until age 13, he also videotaped it! How in the world his professorial colleague can claim that Lasaga's "hands must have slipped" is astonishing.

Thanks for posting this one (long time no e-speak). I'm saving up articles such as these to show my kids' high school guidance counselors as to why Ivy League colleges are not all they're cracked up to be. There's no way on God's green Earth that I would want my kids to come into any kind of contact with ivory-tower, morally-bankrupt "intellectuals" such as these *&^&^$^%$%^#s!

If we find out where this lowlife will be incarcerated, maybe we could send him a "Care Package" with extra bars of soap?!

i believe they always are. doubt if they'd last a day in general population.
i was unfortunate to know 2 jerks who were convicted and they were put in PC. they are both out now.
my nephew was in san quentin during 9-11 and he said all the mid east guys were put in PC because even though they're criminals, they are patriotic and seeing what those pigs did to the WTC, i'm sure they had their shivs sharpened.
that's just the way it is in there. political correctness doesn't fly in prison.
