The only solution to all these environmental evils is to legislate against SUVs and provide tax incentives to purchasing Volvos.Am I safe, I have both!!
To: Asclepius
Everyone get into your SUV and drive, damn you, drive. ROFLMAO!

Global warming after the last ice-age helped civilization prosper. A gentler environment helped humans develop agriculture, culture, language and education. By the time the next ice-age looms, humans should have attained the means to leave the earth and colonize other worlds. That's only if we drill in Anwar...of course.

Don't be too happy, you might be ice skating soon!

New Research Indicates the Earth Is Not a Static Object in a Static Universe

You are right, or at least I think you are.
The other thing that bugs me about the Greenies is that none of them have actual science training. They are the ones that didn't do well on their freshman science exams and changed major to something less challenging for their doctorate. That's what I think about that. I might be wrong, there might be an actual scientist among them.

Few scientists will admit the real truth --that they simply don't know many things, including the future of the climate. How accurate are weather forecasts beyond one day? And yet we're supposed to accept without question theories like global warming (or the coming ice age).

Don't worry, everybody, the global warming will moderate it.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
lol....this is amazing. Quite frankly, I say bring on a little ice age like we had in the 1600's-1800's. It is too freaking warm in summer and winter is not cold and snowy enough.

"Global Hypochandria"I like it. I am going to promote this as a buzzword, maybe freepers can get it into popular use and really drive those closet commies nuts! (BTW: it's "Global Hypochondria" (i think...))

Next thing you know someone will be blaming the hole in the ozone layer for bringing down all the cold air from outer space!

I had an e-mail from a friend of mine in the High Desert telling me about the article in the Victorville Daily press.
Apparently that did not put it up on the website .
But Google found it with what he sent me.
Kind of a neat LOGO.

But the ice is still melting from the Northern Polar icecap, isn't it? I heard that the evidence differs at each pole. So I think the jury is still out. My sense is that global warming is probably not occurring. Even if it is, the cure is worse than the disease.
