Good article. Children need to be taught that they must learn in school. Testing is the only way to measure the ability of the students, teachers, methods, and schools. The most vocal opponents seem to be the teacher's unions and the parents of sub-standard students....both group are simply trying to cover-up their own failings.

Thanks for your post #37 -- and, I agree. Students need to know what they are to do in school. One of the basic premises of successful schools is that in such schools, students KNOW the REASON they are IN school is to LEARN. This fact is NOT known to all students in all schools, and I can tell you that for a fact. Thanks again for your post. :)
