Katherine paid the big price. She messed with something bigger and smarter and meaner than she was. I almost never don the tinfoil headgear, but this was no accident. There was relatively little impact damage to the car, and what there was, was not typical of causing a fire, at least according to FNC.

Hmmm. . . . the Fayette County Review says the initial Highway patrol report indicated the car burst into flames when it hit the pole. They appear to be backing away from that in the other story.
http://www.fayettecountyreview.com/display/inn_news/news6.txt Piperton Car Crash Investigated By FBI by Sherri Osteen The FBI is investigating a fiery car crash, which occurred south of Piperton early Sunday morning. Authorities were called to the intersection of Highway 72 and Highway 196 on February 10th at 12:53 A.M. where they found a 4-door, 1992 Accura Legend burning out of control. A female body discovered in the vehicle was burned beyond recognition. Sheriff Bill Kelley told the Review a report filed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol indicates the automobile was traveling westbound on Highway 72 when it veered off the road, struck a utility pole and immediately burst into flames.

Cars burst into flames all the time. I must have seen it happen a hundred times.
On TV...

What is the likelihood of a one-car accident hitting a pole which created a fire so hot that the body couldn't been except through dental records? I'd say small, unless there was criminal involvement.

Shepherd Smith on Fox News Channel just did a "top news" brief on this story, 3-4 mins beofre my post.

If this was not accidental, what is the motive for getting rid of her?
Terrorist cell exposure?
Vote fraud scheme discovery?
Part of a large or nationwide operation of license fraud exposure?

All you need to know is that she was about to talk and now she isn't. Case closed.

Definitely suspicious, quite possibly the result of a malign terrorist conspiracy.
But how come no one's posted the usual "tinfoil hat" rhetoric on this one, I wonder? :)
To: Shermy
At Monday's hearing, federal prosecutor Tim DiScenza described Smith's death as "most unusual and suspicious." He also said two of her co-defendants had "connections" to the World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Looks as if the U.S. Attorney's office is aware of the problem.
To: Shermy
Well, she won't be testifying to anything now....or ever.
Looks like Memphis is NOT the place to be these days. Scientists jumping off bridges for no reason, and low level state employees, having a lethal accidents the day before testifying in a terror related trial.
Gee whiz.

TO ALL MID SOUTH FREEPERS:
on a recent trip to tunica, I noticed the big service station around casino row & old 61 was shut down.
this was the station that had the Krystal Burger restaurant (for those who could only afford a 12 pack of Krystals to gettum back home?)
at the risk of being "PinC", the convenience store was run by a couple of ME, and I've notice they have been totally shut down since the license examiner's murder. (which was also about the time of the announced round up of the 4,000 or so ME illegals)
anybody in the mid south know what's going on?
