Here is another view point - if democracy (the majority rules) is so dear to liberals then why even the hint of someone possibly getting offended by the will of the majority is enough to stop that majority?

Goldstein is proselytizing himself but he is too stupid to see it. He wants to keep his traditions and faith which is all to the good. No chance he will be converted. What he is concerned about is that others might convert. And he wants to stop that because it will mean less influence in the public square for those of his faith.
