GOLDSTEIN: Alan, you know, I am Jewish, you know, and it‘s tremendously offensive to me for people to try to convert me. It‘s in the primary value of my religion not to be converted, and the idea that somehow this should be widespread in the media, and I should be subject to this when I read a newspaper or turn on a television show, it‘s remarkably offensive of you. And I mean, you know, this is something that would make me feel incredibly threatened, and it ought to make a lot of people feel threatened.

This totalitarian creep seems to forget what happened and is still happening to people of his faith when others decided and still decide his faith is offensive to them.

I found Goldstein's claims to be ludicrous. We can't say anything about our faith because his faith prohibits him from even someone trying to convert him? All he has to say is "I'm Jewish, and I'm not interested", and that is that. Sheesh, some of these people act as if anyone who approaches them about religion, it is like they feel as if we are throwing water on them and want them to melt.

and it‘s tremendously offensive to me

About 70 years ago some people in Europe decided public displays of the Jewish faith were offensive, and decided to do something to stop it once and for all. The result was the holocaust and the loss of millions of Jews.

When you start going down the road that says faith should be restricted to private, you end up saying faith should be restricted. The only way to restrict a faith is to eliminate those that practice that faith.

That's why we shouldn't resitrict anyone from publicly practicing their faith. That road just leads in the wrong direction.
