It could be that it was planned ahead of time. Feb 12th. 5 month + 1 day after the first attack.I don't know the significance of 5 months plus one day, but it is Lincoln's birthday. It's not observed to the extent it used to be, but it is a date of significance to Americans.

Kinda like "Double Secret Probation", isn't it?

This was different than the other alert we were on, which was a
general state of alert. This was for a
particular day, today. :-)
Did that make it any easier to understand?

Kinda like "Double Secret Probation", isn't it? I just wish the warnings had some sort of seriousness grade attached to them. Don't they have something like that for the military? "Defcon 1 through 5", or something like that (I don't know exactly what 'Defcon' is). Sort of like, a terrorist warning of 5 would mean that we are reasonably sure they are going to pull something, etc.

Before, we should have been generally paranoid, or paranoid in general. This new threat means that we should at least double our efforts at being paranoid today, in other words, be specifically paranoid. :)

This is true. Well, someone knew something....it wasn't just "one" of the prisoners who made up something. It was several of them, we don't know who, but obviously it was serious enough to put us on alert.
After 911, and the heat they got for not *warning* us about the threats (thanks, x42), you can't blame them. I won't.

Or they could come up with a place or a "weapon" to be used. If they got the name and date, why not more? Half the story really doesn't do much tward prevention. That's the part of the alerts I don't like.

A weather watch is the conditions are right for a possible storm or tornado. A warning is one has been seen so get your butt in your cellar!...that IS what you wanted to know, right? ;)

LOL.....I'm sorry. You're right, though. If only we had an "alert" system, we might know
how alert we should be. Like, say, I live in Florida right? (I really do, I'm not being paranoid...) and we have "Tropical Storm
Watches....and then as they get closer they become "Warnings".....etc.
I don't know. But you did make me laugh...:-)

How To Stop Islamic Attacks:
"I have positioned nuclear attack submarines near the Arabian Peninsula. Any attack on the United States will be met with the destruction of targets such as Mecca or Medina. Terrorists must face the possibility that they will be responsible for the destruction of Islam."

Eid-Ul-Adha, the holiday of Hajj. Those performing the Hajj, have returned from 'Arafa, and now proceed to slaughtering a lamb or other suitable animal, in commemoration of Ibrahim's (alaihis salaam) act of obedience to the LORD. Ibrahim (alaihis salaam) in a divinely inspired dream, saw that he was sacrificing his oldest son, Isma'eel (alaihis salaam) for the sake of ALLAH (Subhanahu wa ta'ala). When he revealed this to his son, he was told to do as he was commanded. As the blade passed over Isma'eel's neck (alahis salaam) the LORD did not take the life of Isma'eel (alaihis salaam). The LORD provided a ram for the sacrifice, and preserved his two faithful subjects. Those away from Hajj also perform the sacrifice. Normally, they keep one third of the meat from the sacrifice, distribute one third to the needy and share one third with their neighbors.
Eid-Ul-Adha is a four-day holiday and celebration. It commences on the 10th day of Thul Hijjah and is celebrated in a manner similar to Eid-Ul-Fitr. It starts with a special holiday prayer, performed in congregation in the Masjid (Mosque) or other suitable place. It is a time of celebration, of visiting family and friends and of thanking ALLAH (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) for all the blessings bestowed upon us. Fasting is prohibited during these days.

No kidding. As serious as this is, at least we can have a sense of humor. ;-)
I just wish I knew what to expect....or what I should not do? Fly? Get on a bus? Visit the zoo? Take a tour of KSC? Visit your local nuke facility? WHAT??

Or, were we just on "HIGH ALERT"? Is it like the difference between a weather watch and a weather warning? Could someone clue me in? I wish I knew the answer to this, too. You said exactly what I was thinking!
Also, I wonder - what are we suppose to look for ??? Low flying airplanes, big unmarked trucks parked in odd places? The pictures they showed on the FBI webside - why these people could have purple hair now and their name could now be Don Smith - who knows!
Seriously, I really am not sure what to make of this - I hope it is just a false alarm, again. I'm not sure I understand what they are really trying to tell us.
