A Lenten Prayer to One God for One WorldThank God Alan's show is coming on now. I need to hear someone make sense!Lord, our God,
it was in hte desert that you formed your
people Israel and readied them to enter
into a land flowing with milk and honey;
it was in hte desert that your Son, our Lord, Jesus
retreated as he readied himself for His public ministry,
proclaiming your Kinddom and
bringing us your gift of salvation;
it was in the desert that your child Muhammed
heard your call to bring his people to a belief in the One God.
During this Lenten season,
bring us back to the desert of our own existence.
Let us once again hear your voice
calling us to reconversion.
Allow us to rediscover you, the One God as well as the
commonality we share with
all our brothers and sisters throughout the world-
your children. Let us be attentive to your will and
live your commandment of love as we work and pray towards
a world of peace and unity.
This we pray in the name of Jesus who is one with you, O Yahweh,
O Allah, and the Holy Spirit.AMEN.
This we pray in the name of Jesus who is one with you, O Yahweh, O Allah, and the Holy Spirit.
OH MY GOD, did your Pastor see and approve of this??
Now, this is just my humble opinion, but it seems like the relaxed liberal atmosphere of the post-Vatican II Church opened the doors for a lot of weirdo types - active homosexuals, liberal dissidents, heretics, and pedophiles to operate without much supervision or discipline. They use the Church as a safe and easy cash cow and crash pad to cover their alternative lifestyles.
This is impressive: I count at least three heresies in one sentence. Syncretism between Islam and the True Faith, which, while not certainly expressed, was certainly intended based on the preceding blasphemy in this "prayer". A bizarre Trinitarian heresy bordering on Arianism, because what the sentence literally says, instead of the correct Trinitarian invocation of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is "Jesus, God, God, and the Holy Spirit". And finally, a quaternarian heresy implying that there are four persons in the Godhead.
If it were me, I would be tempted to write the paster a letter proposing that he rename the "Peace and Justice" committee the "Peace, Justice, and Heresy Committee". :-Q
