BTW, your Freeper name caught my eye: I'm SCAT '82 and a HUGE Eagles fan...
You make a good point. I do the grocery shopping and it's getting very irritating to have to read each and every label closely to make sure I am getting what I want. The market is saturated with the low fat low sodium craze and just buying a simple item such as a can of Campbells soup requires a reading of the entire cans contents.
If anyone thinks this does not effect them they are wrong. It drives up the cost of food. As well long standing traditional products are often discontinued to make way for the new trendy here today gone next month product. Items like Weight Watchers of I have never seen anyone buy saturates frozen food sections everywhere. That means another item is removed for it to be there. I get angry when I go to the store and want a simple squeaze bottle of French's mustard. If they have it at all {usually not} it is in a real small area while green mustard and the generic store brand is in plenty of supply.
Anyone remember when Bush choked on the pretzel? The jokes about Mr. Salty? Think hard when was the last time you saw a box of Mr. Salty? It's been gone from the shelves about 4 years now. I really wish the buyers of the main chain grocery stores and the makers of our food products would hire grown ups to do the buying and marketing and leave my favorites alone. /Rant Off
