Of course, that would mean paying heed to the UN, but presumably that wouldn't fit your view of the world? Would this be the UN that called Israel racist? The same UN that is controlled by a coterie of insane 3rd World dictatorships? The UN that voted to kick the US off of the Human Rights panel so it could be replaced by freedom loving nations like the Sudan? Israel should pay heed to that UN?
So, you believe the US brought the 9/11 attacks upon herself? You believe Osama Bin Laden was justified? Don't pull any punches, I want to know.

Inane comments like this remind me why he is so irritating I thought it was pretty funny and also encapsulated Euro-elite thinking very succinctly.

Oh I see - America deserved the attack in your view becuase of its support of Israel. More innocent civilians died in that attack than sailors did in Pearl Harbour. And it's all America's fault in your opinion. No wonder the Labour government is screwing up virtually everything it pokes its grubby fingers into it - the people behind it are morally impaired, such as yourself.
Israel is the only democracy in the region whether you like it or not.
Finally, your precious value on the UN, again, it's just an excuse to tell the Americans, "No don't hurt the terrorists" - you've already admitted that you think what happened to the Americans is their own fault anyway, so what is the purpose of talk except to hinder them in retaliating? Why don't you send Semtex to the terrorists while you're at it, since the Americans deserved it, perhaps you feel the terrorists should have killed more them - after all, all the attacks did was make the Americans (and some Brits, like this one, who has relatives in New York), fighting angry.
Again it all comes down to appeasement. You basically feel that the terrorists are justified, thus the Americans shouldn't retaliate, and basically do what the terrorists want. You're on the wrong website, lad. Maybe Al Quaeda has a website for you to join.

The rules of the site say 'no obscenity'. I know in Britain it's kewl and gives you street-cred to intersperse your text with four letter words, but in the US we consider it juvenile and vulgar.
Please go back to your Guardian until you learn how to write without showing symptoms of Tourette's syndrome.

I see, ripping the BS away from the heart of your argument is somehow unintelligent. It's the reverse, I'm afraid. You are sympathetic to the terrorists, otherwise you wouldn't be wasting so much effort in your attempts to say "No don't hurt them, and it's America's fault anyway, get America bound up in the UN so they don't do anything."
That's really it. Any argument for binding America up in the UN is an argument for inaction, weakness, passivity. As has been pointed out to you, this has a very bad history. Even Clement Attlee and Ernest Bevin knew better.
But go on, it's very interesting to see cognitive dissonance in action.

Yep. You can always count on an Islamo to slit a stewardess's throat with a box cutter, and you can always count on a Frenchman to whip out the white flag lickety-split. Some things never change.

I'm also a Brit and you are an embarrassment. It's idiots like you that give us Brits a bad name. Why don't you do us all a favour and go and fight for a sunbed in Tenerife (permanently if at all possible) with your Euro friends.

Every country has its burden of fools, and I (for one) don't hold your Guardianistas against you.

Mr./Ms. Brit:
If you ever encounter a napalm attack, either as donor or recipient, you are fully entitled to curse yourself silly. This, however, is a discussion forum, not a napalm attack. If you're confused about the difference, please douse yourself with gasoline and strike a light.
