ABC 13 Eyewitness News (10/03/01) — In Federal Court today, a grand jury levied indictments against a Palestinian national living in northwest Harris County. Attallah Fuad Khoury was charged with being in the country illegally, possessing a firearm, and lying on his application to purchase that gun. Khoury faces up to 30 years in prison and up to $250,000 dollars in fines.
A month before the September 11th attacks, Khoury allegedly told a rental car clerk he was two weeks away from getting a pilot's license and that she should "watch the news."

At the Prairie Island Nuclear plant in Minnesota, a car full of “racially profiled ‘Middle Eastern looking men’ tried to access the plant,” but fled when detained. There were also suspicious events at fossil fuel power plants in Connecticut and Massachusetts. One event involved two men with photo equipment in a black Mercedes. They reportedly asked the guard for a tour, and when questioned they left “at a high rate of speed.” Guards were able to get the license number, and the vehicle was identified on a FBI wanted list.
