BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) Argentine authorities detained a passenger aboard a United Airlines jetliner Thursday after he tried to enter the cockpit during a flight from Miami, officials and the airline said. The unidentified passenger was restrained by the plane's crew and later arrested by police after the flight landed as scheduled in Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital, said Jorge Reta, an Air Force spokesman. Authorities did not identify the passenger, but local reports said the man was reportedly a Uruguayan citizen. United Airlines said it had notified local authorities and the FBI about the incident. In a statement, United said flights to and from Argentina would continue as scheduled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2002 The Associated Press. Also a cute little plastic flare pistol too, but hey, government regulation doesn't have to make sense.
I love Spagsorb, it is made from a type of moss that when applied to petroleum spills, soaks it up and breaks it down into fertilizer. Spagsorb is great for oil spills out in the wild, dump it on the spill and forget about it. On the other hand if you use it to clean up an oil spill inside a hangar it becomes hazardous waste. Why? "Thus sayeth the environmental protection agency".
Fox reported a flight attendant hit with an axe. Right on!
I switched to CNN when there was a commercial on Fox, and CNN reported it was the Co-pilot who hit the guy over the head with the axe and some of the passengers subdued him, and that he was drunk.
The word "bluntly" is propertly used as an adverb when referring to speaking in a direct manner. The word "blunt" can be used as an adjective, referring to a dull edge. The writer just used some slightly creative license.
No but they did may the "Axis of countries that end in Guay". No, Chadguay, you can't join. Now go back and stay with your "Axis of countries named after an actor starring as a TV doctor".
I thought that was pretty cool. Did the guys head split like a rotten grapefruit please?
I'm sure the writer meant "with the blunt end" or something like that. The various definitions of "blunt(ly)" indicate it can be used to indicate "abruptly" or "directly". Meaning the axe connected with the dude's cranium with a solid thunk instead of glancing off. Good aim!
I like this one better....
A splash of straight scotch is as good as any mace you can buy. I was once at a bar, slightly loopy & had a dry contact lens. Dipped my pinky in a scotch & water and put a drop in my eye. I will NEVER do that again.

Its sounding like the crew opened the door ONLY after it had failed...
If that's the case, I guess it was more of a preemptive strike by the crew member.
That's all?
