I should note that I have not disputed the substance of the author's observations about Islam. Much of what he says is quite true, as many commentators have remarked since 9/11 and as many of us were well aware long before then. Islamic customs and practices are draconian, oppressive and, in all Islamic states except Turkey, anti-democratic.
All I have said on this thread is that this particular author is a poor writer.
