If you look closer, you'll realize that the guy is quite intelligent and very well informed, but he's just not a native English speaker. I can't, of course, infer what his original language is, or was, but he's definitely using English as a second language and not doing a half-bad job of it either.

guy is quite intelligent...not a native English speakerI noticed immediately that English is not his native language. I disagree that he is "intelligent" however. Thoughts rush around in his brain as in a maelstrom, and he splashes them on the page without pausing for a moment's reflection.
