Perhaps you would prefer it is the government did absolutely nothing to prevent further attacks, but not me. I, for one, believe that it's better to fight terrorism than to lay down and let it roll over you. But, of course, if this country was destroyed from within or from outside, I'm sure you'd be happy. You all have SUCH a better plan to run things, don't you?

If it wouldn't put people at such great risk, I just wish ONE WEEK you armchair warriors and know-it-alls had to put your money where you mouth was; maybe if you ever had to be in charge, things wouldn't be quiet as easy as they appear to you from that computer chair.

As for me, I'd rather DO something, than WHINE about something. I'd rather TRY to do something, rather than continually mock the people who are trying to SAVE our freedom, whether they find the best path the first time or not.

BTW, anybody who threatens MY FREEDOM is a terrorist in my book. I'll come down on the side of those trying to protect our freedom every single time.

What exactly are you doing? Supporting someone isn't doing anything. Its just supporting. I could venture to argue that being a watchdog (as I can claim that point out this comment is) is more of doing something that nodding your head everytime anyone with an R beside thier name speaks.

I support our President on the war on terror. I like the job that Rumsfeld has done, and that goes for Rice and Cheney as well. Ashcroft, Thompson and a few other pokes I don't support. I really hope that Ashcroft is speaking on his own behalf with this statement and this is not the position of the President. I hope for all of us, because like you, I will fight anyone who threatens my freedom.

Foreign or domestic. With an "R" or without.

Anybody who ignores the Constitution is a terrorist in my book, DC is full of them on both sides of the aisle.

The first thing a totalitarian state does is destroy dissent. There is nothing unpatriotic about defending your Constitutional rights.

There's no need to embarrass our leaders by pointing out the flaws in our society that they're aware of and dealing with in their own way. Some people just enjoy finding fault with our leaders! They're anarchists, they're trouble makers or they're simply just unpatriotic. None of which describes you. Now, do you want people thinking otherwise? These are the areas that I want to help you with. I want to feel like I'm needed. That I'm doing my part to help bring the EarthGov back into the hands of the decent, hard-working people that created it. I am here to protect you.

The WTC attacks could have been prevented by the simple expedient of honoring citizens' right to keep and bear arms. Instead, we gave the federal government complete responsibility for securing our safety, with horrific results. And here you want to give these people even more money and power. Do you realize that Bush lost the popular vote? If the Democrats gain control of both the legislative and executive branches, will you not regret cheering for these expanded powers?

"mock the people who are trying to SAVE our freedom, whether they find the best path the first time or not."

Sort of like destroying the village in order to save it?

By the time your leaders get done with saving us from the TERRORISTS, I'm going to have a hard time telling the difference.

"As for me, I'd rather DO something, than WHINE about something."

Well, I have an idea. I'm going in a few weeks to help a Texas rancher patrol the border of his property with Mexico. I suggest you just look one up in the phone book, and offer your services.

Time to put your money where YOUR mouth is.

I agree with you 100%. It's about time we had someone in Washington willing to tell it like it is and to defend us against terrorism. If the majority of voters have a problem with Ashcroft, they can exercise their right to vote in the next election and put in a (gasp) liberal Democrat. Personally, I thank the Good Lord for our President and his staff. They are doing us a good service -- everyday.
